TASMANIAN BLACKWOOD

Tasmanian Blackwood (Australian)(acacia melanoxylon) has tonal properties that are often compared closely to that of Indian Rosewood or Mahogany; It is resonant, very projective, sustains tone and although it is a powerful Tonewood it maintains its smoothness beautifully. Tasmanian Blackwood is an exceptional Tonewood that is continuing to grow in popularity with Luthiers. This exceptional Tonewood is closely related to the popular Hawaiian Koa, both from the Acacia family.
